A humorous and accessible self-help step by step guide to misophonia, by the UK's leading expert.

You might not have heard of misophonia, but if you’ve ever known anyone driven disproportionately mad by the sound of chewing, breathing, snoring, a clock ticking, or any other specific trigger, you may have experienced it. In fact, since it’s thought to affect around 20% of the population, there’s a one in five chance you suffer from the condition yourself.
Dr Jane Gregory is the principal voice in misophonia research. She is a clinical psychologist who has worked as a therapist, supervisor, trainer and manager in both primary care services (IAPT) and highly specialised services in the NHS. She established the UK’s first two misophonia clinics within specialist psychology services in London and Oxford. She adapted existing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) protocols for the unique presentation of misophonia, and ran a case series in the NHS demonstrating the effectiveness of this model of therapy for reducing the intensity and impact of misophonia. Jane is joined by contributor Adeel Ahmad, host of the popular Misophonia Podcast.
In Sounds Like Misophonia, Jane and Adeel address what the condition is, how it manifests, and provide a step-by-step guide to managing the condition. They do this with humour and their own personal experiences, as well as case studies from other sufferers. This will be the definitive book on the subject, and essential reading for all sufferers and healthcare professionals looking to treat the condition.
