Who does not love Fractals? Fractals are everywhere in nature! Arun uses software called Wolfram Alpha to generate these fractals. He transfers the digital file to a Laser machine called Snapmaker.
He then etches and cuts them onto hardwoods like Maple, Cherry, and Walnut boards that he sources from Canada. Kromm Design is a wonderful family-owned shop that produces these beautiful wooden planks from sustainable wood sources.
After the etch and cut, he assembles them as needed. Then he uses high-quality oil to bring out the wood grain as much as possible. After the oil dries, he applies multiple layers of water-based polyurethane to protect the coaster from minor scratches, water and other stains.
Our family uses these coasters every day. And we have delighted our friends and extended family by gifting them too.
The high quality materials, and process ensures that these beautiful pieces will delight every day and remind us of the beauty surrounding us.
Arun loves applying technology to arts and crafts.

About the artwork
The artwork was generated using WolframAlpha.com.
The Pythagoras tree is a plane fractal constructed from squares. Invented by the Dutch mathematics teacher Albert E. Bosman in 1942. It is named after the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras because each triple of touching squares encloses a right triangle, in a configuration traditionally used to depict the Pythagorean theorem. If the largest square has a size of L × L, the entire Pythagoras tree fits snugly inside a box of size 6L × 4L. The finer details of the tree resemble the Lévy C curve.
