Nature, Climate Change & Sustainability - 11:30am

At the intersection of science, storytelling, and urgent global challenges lies a simple question: how do we better understand and protect the natural world in the face of climate change? Authors Jonathan Slaght, Heather Holm, and Ashley Shelby bring unique perspectives on ecology, resilience, and the human role in sustainability. Moderated by Hannah Barisonzi, this discussion will highlight the power of narrative and research to connect communities with the environment, explore practical solutions for sustainability, and spark a deeper awareness of our shared responsibility to the planet.




Jonathan C. Slaght is the author of Owls of the Eastern Ice, which won the PEN/E. O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award and the Minnesota Book Award for General Nonfiction, and was long-listed for the National Book Award.
