About the event
Suchi Sairam is an MIT-educated Engineer turned Dance Teacher! She is a strong proponent of integrating ART into STEM and STEM into ART! Through the medium of Dance, this participatory workshop will teach kids about how Nature, Animals, Math, and Rhythm are all an integral part of the Art form that is Dance.
Suchi will start by reading her book "Dancing Deepa" to the kids.
This will be followed by a Dance Lab exploring parts of the below topics -
How do we express ourselves in life and through dance?
Animals - We know a lot of "facts and figures" about animals. How do we EXPERIENCE who they are through dance?
Nature - We enjoy looking at things in nature, such as plants, trees, flowers, the elements. But can we EXPERIENCE nature through dance?
