StoryCraft Sunday - Jan 2024

Join our Book Circle to listen and engage in a monthly book for children ages 4 to 8 years old. Our children need to be seen and heard to become readers and belong to a community. In our Circle, we will listen to a story, talk about keywords and use our voice to be heard about the story. A related activity to the book will also help grow our knowledge about the topic.

Circles are a Native American tradition and we bring the storytelling tradition to life in our experiences of the Book Circle. A STEM book focus will draw our readers in and activities will engage them to become motivated for ongoing reading and learning.

About the Facilitator

Christina Frazier PhD has been teaching kindergarten through 5th grade students in the Robbinsdale Area Schools for 6 years as a special education teacher. Engaging students to feel supported and authentically build relationships prepares them to learn, improve student behavior, feel safe and be respective within a diverse community. She has two masters and a doctorate in the area of education from the University of Minnesota. Her focus is supporting emerging readers and writers through phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development and growing background knowledge. She lives in Plymouth and has a multi-generational home with her husband and mother and has two kids (18 and 16 years old), 2 dogs and 1 cat. As a STEM book enthusiast, she integrates learning it in all aspects of her life.
