CURIE ME AWAY!

By Matheatre

The radical story of a persistent woman who changed our understanding of the universe.   Marie Sklodowska Curie grew up in occupied Poland, where it was illegal for girls and women to pursue higher education. She is now revered as the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. Her discovery of the elements Polonium and Radium changed the world, as did her legacy as a champion for education as an act of resistance. In this award-winning musical, core chemistry concepts become a lyrical metaphor in a biography of discovery.

Curie Me Away! is a production of Matheatre--an internationally touring theatre company whose mission is to use live theatre to tell stories that inspire excitement about math and science. www.matheatre.com

This event is ticketed, with all proceeds benefiting Matheatre, a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity dedicated to creating full-scale live theater productions that promote scientific literacy and intellectual curiosity. With a home base of Minneapolis, MN, they work with museums and science centers, libraries, and planetaria in addition to high schools and colleges all over the USA as well as internationally.  They also offer workshops to educators and science communicators and have a dramatized nonfiction podcast about math and science history.  Matheatre is a member of ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers).

Tickets are on a pay-what-you-will sliding scale and can be purchased here: https://us.patronbase.com/_Matheatre/Productions/CMA2/Performances
