About the event

The scientific study of Measurement is called "Metrology". Who knew? Not only does it pervade every aspect of our life - from how tall we are to how far it is to our homes, schools and Mars, to how big is the ocean, or how much gas really fits in the tank of your car....and on and on! The ability to measure things alone is not enough; standardisation is crucial for measurements to be meaningful. The The International System of Units (SI) defines the standard for everything we measure.

From the moment we arrive physically on this beautiful planet, our dependency on The International System of Units (SI) is very evident.  It is so much so that we all (humans) suffer from a well-known but yet to be medically recognized “TTGF” syndrome.

Come listen to this short talk tailored to bring awareness of the SEVEN base units that the world of legal, physical, and industrial metrology operates with, keeping in mind the concept of measurement uncertainty that we all must deal with.

Anish Shah is perfectly suited to guide us on this journey. He is the FOUNDER and Chief Metrology Officer at METROLOGIZED, L.L.C., a company founded in 2014 to further the metrology knowledge-base within the manufacturing and service industries. He possesses a deep understanding of industry standards with emphasis on quality. He continues to learn and share his knowledge by providing training on various topics including fundamental measurement principles.

Anish is a very passionate, engaging and fun speaker,  promising to take this seemingly obscure subject and make it into an engaging event with activities that will leave you with more questions than you came with!
