About the event
Meet the team behind the non-profit dedicated to the development of opportunities for people of all backgrounds to engage in computer science and technology learning activities - CodeSavvy and its sister companies: CoderDojo, Technovation MN, and the AI Racing League.
We have a full day of activities planned, come when you can:
ALL-DAY Stations:
- Linux Installathon - ALL DAY - Don't know what to do with the old laptop gathering dust in storage? Want to be responsible in recycling but don't know how? This is your chance. Donate to CodeSavvy where expert technicians will wipe the laptop and load it with Linux for use in future learning opportunities for kids.
- 3D Printer making Code Savvy logo buttons
- Turing Tumble Logic Game
- Feedback Loop Video Station
- Electronic magic trick - can you make an image on a screen move by blowing on it? Find out!
Timed Activities:
- 11-1 pm - Micro-Python Robots - gives kids hands-on experience with python-powered robots and a presentation on the coding that goes into making them work.
- 1pm - Hear Parker Erickson, recent Computer Science graduate talk about "What does going to school for Computer Science look like?". If you have a student interested in and considering computer science, this will be a chance to talk to a recent graduate with patents to his name and currently working in cutting edge Graph ML technology.
- 2-4 pm - Art-Tech Projects - LED strip art project for the older kids and the Sticker Art LED Circuitry for the younger kids.
